Ilhaam and Wahi (Arabic) are both names of a form of lesser revelation in Islam. Historically there have been attempts to distinguish between the two terms, however their usage in the Qur'an points to an interchangeability of the terms. Ilhaam is often used as the name for revelation experienced by a Wali. It is not considered flawless and is often rejected if in conflict with Sharia.
