West Croydon is a locality to the north west of central Croydon in South London. It borders the London Boroughs of Sutton and Merton.

West Croydon is a largely residential area, with little open space. However, the key roads of Purley Way (A23) and London Road pass through the area. The former is known for superstores, particularly IKEA built on the site of a power station. The remaining towers of the power station, topped with IKEA colours, are a local landmark. London Road is an important shopping area, particularly for South Asian and Turkish communities.

West Croydon station, on the north side of central Croydon, serves as an important transport hub for Croydon and surrounding areas, with a train station, bus station and Tramlink stop; there are plans for it to form part of the extension of the East London Line.

Croydon General Hospital was located in West Croydon, on London Road. With the building of Mayday Hospital, Croydon General services were reduced and it eventually closed except for administrative offices in its grounds. It has recently been demolished for housing and some medical facilities. Croydon Crematorium and Cemetery is at the northern edge of West Croydon, bordering Mitcham Common.

Broad Green is a small community at the centre of the West Croydon area. It describes a triangular green surrounded by shops and large houses. The green was built upon by the end of the 19th century. Most of West Croydon is in an electoral ward called "Broad Green", hence Broad Green library is some distance from the traditional Broad Green area. Parts of West Thornton and Selhurst wards are also in West Croydon.
