William C. Kirby

William C. Kirby is Geisinger professor of history and a scholar of Chinese history and culture at Harvard University and is the former Dean of the Faculty. After a controversial four-year tenure in which he clashed both with the Harvard faculty and its President, Lawrence Summers, he announced on January 27 2006 that he would resign as Dean.
