Wiltshire Constabulary is the Home Office police force responsible for policing Wiltshire and Swindon in south-west England.
Wiltshire Police Authority has 9 councillors (from both Wiltshire County Council and Swindon Borough Council), 3 justices of the peace, and 5 independent members.
The force was established in 1839 under the County Police Act 1839, and was the first county police force to be formed.
