Windows Live Essentials
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Windows Live Essentials is a service by Microsoft Corporation which is still in beta testing stage. The final product aims to offer bundled e-mail, instant messaging, security services and other Windows Live entities, and integrates Windows Live Dashboard into a "seamless whole". It is similar to Google's Google Pack <ref>http://www.microsoft-watch.com/article2/0,1995,2008695,00.asp?kc=MWRSS02129TX1K0000535</ref>.
In order to recognise the contributions of beta testers, Microsoft has inititated the Windows Live Butterfly awards program (formerly the MSN Butterfly program) .
Prospective 'butterflies' are selected by the (Microsoft internal) Windows Live product team and are nominated for a minimum term of one year, after which they must be selected again by the internal product teams or their membership in the group will be dropped.
