XF5700 Mantis (or XF5700 Mantis Experimental Fighter, it's full name), is a space simulator made by MicroPlay Software in 1992.

[edit] Plot

Basically a "Defend Earth from the Menance"-type game, with a twist: Realistic Space Physics. 90 missions were inside the game to present a challange.

[edit] Gameplay

Athough the physics sound like they would work perfect, the end result turned out to be extremely hard, the fighter AI were usualy on suicide paths, and you get ejected (Dishonorbly Discharged) from the game if you eject from your Mantis too many times (bout 3 ejects and you're out) and destroys the save game ADOM-style.
