You're My World

"You're My World" is a 1964 single by British pop singer Cilla Black. The song had been originally recorded by Dionne Warwick, who was a little agitated that Black had recorded a cover version of her hit single "Anyone Who Had a Heart" and released it in the UK before Warwick had a chance to release it herself. In a later interview, Warwick said she told Black personally that "You're My World" would be her next single, inferring that if she had just sneezed on the track that Black would do the same. Just as Warwick had imagined, Black recorded and released the song as a single. Warwick and her producers Burt Bacharach and Hal David decided not to release Warwick's version of the song, allowing Black's version to reach #1 in the UK and #26 on the US pop charts in 1964.
