"You Give Me Something" is the first single by British singer James Morrison, which was released on July 16, 2006. The song is featured on his debut album, Undiscovered, which was released on July 31, 2006.

[edit] Composition and Meaning
When James Morrison was in New Zealand, and appeared on the New Zealand Idol show, the two finalists asked Morrison what the meaning behind the song was, and Morrison said that it was intended to be a 'harsh love song', and the lyrics mean that the protagonist of the song does not love the person as much as she loves him, but is willing to give the relationship a try.

The music video takes place in a studio where Morrison is sat in a chair with lots of microphones surrounding him, singing and playing guitar. His backing orchestra is playing behind curtains (you can only see their shadows). Watching him is a woman with a lollipop, a group of jump rope girls, and a group of show girls. Halfway through the video, the jump rope girls do their routine until it goes wrong, at which point they sit back down and the show girls dance their routine. The video ends with the show girls finishing their routine, sitting back down, and the lollipop girl, who looked uninterested at first, smiling.
