"Youth of the Nation" was a hit for P.O.D. in 2002. It was the second single to come from their album Satellite. It was inspired in part by the school shootings at Santana High School and Columbine High School.
The final chorus (of children singing "We are the youth of the nation") has been used on many TV adverts and credits. It was portrayed to show the pain and hurt the 'youths of the nation' were going through, and almost showed a mockery of what the youth of today stood for.
This song was featured in "Weird Al" Yankovic's song "Angry White Boy Polka" on his album Poodle Hat.
