Zachary "Zack" Taylor is a fictional character in the Power Rangers universe, appearing in the television series Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. He was played by Walter Emmanuel Jones.

Zack is the original Black Ranger and second-in-command of the first generation. He, along with Billy Cranston, Kimberly Hart, Jason Lee Scott, and Trini Kwan were picked as the five original Power Rangers by Zordon. He gained the Mastodon Power Coin and the Mastodon Dinozord.
Quick witted and clever, Zack relies on speed and cunning to win his battles. The former Black Power Ranger was the jokester of team, loving dancing, magic, and girls, especially Angela. He cares for his friends and always tried to cheer them up when they're feeling down, his best friend, Jason Lee Scott in particular. A good friend with a good heart, Zack always loved a good joke.
Zack liked to learn and teach Martial Arts. His technique of teaching martial arts is a little unique because his students dance while being taught self-defense (much like Capoeira, but under a different rhythm), he calls this teaching course "Hip Hop Kido."
When the Rangers were in deep situations, such as when a Giant Monster was about to attack the Rangers with their special powers, usually Zack was the one who gives Jason some ideas/strategies on how to beat the monster. This indicates that Zack was the most strategic out of all the original Rangers. Zack was 2nd in command of the team until White Light part 2, when Tommy became Leader and Jason became 2nd in command.
Before Tommy appeared, or if Tommy is not at the youth center, Zack is usually Jason's sparring partner when practicing Karate moves to each other. Tommy once gave Zack his shield in battle. The only time this happened was in Episode 60: An Oyster Stew. This was the only time someone other than Jason was given the Green Ranger's shield.
Eventually, the character of Zack Taylor was written out of the television program, because Jones wanted more money. Zack left the team along with Jason and Trini to attend a peace summit.

- According to the MMPR Interactive CD-ROM, Zack's birthday was March 7th. Making him a Pisces
- In the episode "For Whom the Bell Trolls", Zack gave a surfing demonstration with a surfboard on Miss Appleby's desk for Hobby Week, suggesting that he was an avid surfer.
- Zack's costume for the masquerade party in the episode "Life's a Masquerade" was King Tut.
- According to two different episodes, we find out that Zack had both arachnophobic and ophidiophobic.
- Zack was missing part of a finger. This happened in Food Fight, whether people saw it or not.
- When not teaching his students Hip Hop kido or battling alongside the Rangers, Zack played Basketball and Football in Angel Grove Park with the guys, as well as scuba diving. He also goes bowling (as seen in the pilot).
- In the pilot, Zack's name was spelt as Zach. He wasn't as stereotypical in the pilot as he was in the series. He was more exaggerated and is equally as tough as Jason.
- In the Pilot, when Alpha 5 introduces himself and Zoltar (Zordon), Zack says "Yeah right, and I'm a Ninja Turtle!"
- He has a cousin named Curtis.
- He was just 18 years old.
- Surprisingly, he isn't afraid of rodents, as seen in Itsy Bitsy Spider.
- In Fowl Play, he used Fake Snakes to get rid of Bulk and Skull, which maybe indicate he lost his fear of snakes.
- Zack is one of only three Rangers to wear the Green Ranger's Dragon Shield. (Jason and Tommy being the other two).
- Considering his full first name is Zachary, he shares a name with the twelfth president of the United States, Zachary Taylor.
