[edit] History
Austin was presumably born in the mid 1940s, judging by the car in the flashback in the third movie. He is the son of Nigel Powers, a respected Ministry Of Defense agent (played by Michael Caine), and the brother of Dougie Powers (Doctor Evil). He attended boarding school as a young adult. It was there that he was first given the designation of International Man of Mystery much to the dismay of classmate and future nemesis Dr. Evil. He then joined the Ministry of Defence and with Mrs. Kensington foiled Dr. Evil's diabolical schemes on numerous occasions. When Dr. Evil froze himself in 1967 to avoid capture, Austin did the same in case of Dr. Evil's return. Austin is unfrozen in 1997. Austin then attempts to "modernize", and to become acustomed to the new era.
[edit] Personality
Austin considers himself highly desirable to women. His libido is suitably excessive, a parody of other 1960s fictional spies. However, Austin suffers from a slight inferiority complex caused by his negligent father. He is fiercely loyal to Britain, having the Union Jack prominently displayed on his clothes, underwear, and vehicles.
[edit] Theme song
His theme, in all of his films, is the 1962 Quincy Jones piece, Soul Bossa Nova.
