Loughborough Echo

The Loughborough Echo is a paid-for local newspaper based in the town of Loughborough in Leicestershire, England, circulating in the town and the surrounding area. There is also a special edition serving the nearby town of Shepshed. It is owned by Trinity Mirror Group limited and is published every Thursday.
The newspaper publishes a regular letters section in which contributors debate such items of local interest as the controversial introduction of "wheelie bins" into the Charnwood Borough Council area, and the continuing expansion of Loughborough University. Issues such as creationism, the existence of God and the value of the senses are also popular recurring subjects.
It is part of a series of newspapers which also includes the Coalville Echo, Ashby Echo, Long Eaton Advertiser, Nu News, Trader Xtra, and the West Bridgeford Wot's Wot.The current editor is Andy Rush. The Loughborough Echo has a circulation of 22,392 (July to December 2005 data, certified by the Audit Bureau of Circulations), and the current cover price is 50p (10th November 2006)
