A man is a male human.

• Depending on the context Man and its irregular Germanic plural Men are either used irrespective of age, or by opposition to boy (in its normal sense restricted to male minors) only for adult men.
• The same word can also be used irrespective of sex, especially in scientific and poetic language; see Mannaz for etymology:
