Motoyoshi District, Miyagi

Motoyoshi (本吉郡; -gun) is a district located in Miyagi, Japan.

As of 2003, the district had an estimated population of 43,411 and a density of 113.98 persons per km². The total area is 380.88 km².

On April 1, 2005, Tsuyama, a town in this district merged with the eight other towns of Tome District to form the city of Tome. The current Motoyoshi district would have had an estimated population of 39,299, a density of 125.66 persons per km² and a total area is 312.74 km² as of 2003.

On April 1, 2006, Karakuwa will become part of the city of Kesennuma.
