Pamela Barnes Ewing

Pamela Barnes Ewing, Pam, was a character in the popular American television series Dallas, played by Victoria Principal 1978-1987. Pamela was thought to be the daughter of Jock Ewing's old business partner "Digger" Barnes and sister of Cliff Barnes, the sworn enemy of her brother-in-law J.R. Ewing. It was later revealed that Pam's father was another man. As Bobby Ewing's wife, she was usually forced to act as a buffer between the two feuding families. Pam and Bobby had one son, Christopher Ewing.
In the first season, Pam usually used Bobby's car, but then she gets her own car as a present from Bobby: a black Corvette with the license plate EWING 5. As Pam and Bobby drive off in the new car, Sue Ellen lets J.R. know that it was a long time since she received any present like that from him, but he pretends he does not understand her hint. In the third and fourth seasons, Pam drove a black Porsche, still with the same license plate.
Pam was badly injured in a car crash in 1987 and left Dallas under strange circumstances, divorcing Bobby in the process. A year later it was revealed Pam's injuries had been extensive and she was dying from internal bleeding. Presumely, Pam died soon after.
