A Sextet is a formation containing exactly six members. It is commonly associated with musical groups, but can be applied to any situation where six similar or related objects are considered a single unit.

In jazz music a sextet is any group of six players, usually containing a drum set (bass drum, snare drum, hi-hat, ride cymbal), string bass or electric bass, piano, and various combinations of the following or other instruments: guitar, trumpet, saxophone, clarinet, trombone.

Six humans sharing the same gestational period are called sextuplets and are usually all born within a short period of time.

Sextet is also the name of a free improvisation quartet from Northern California. The group is comprised of Robert Schaulis (Clarinet), Austin Moore (Trumpet), Courtland Miles (Trumpet), and Nick Spangler (drums). Sextet is known for their percussive form of free jazz.
